Quick guide

How to generate a strong password

The default is 30 characters using uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers. You can add symbols or choose any length from 8 to 64 characters.

  1. 01

    Choose the length

Move the slider or use the minus and plus buttons. Longer passwords are generally harder to guess; 30 characters is selected by default.

  2. 02

    Select character groups

Include the character types accepted by the website or app. At least one group must remain selected.

  3. 03

    Copy and save it safely

Copy the result and store it in a reputable password manager. Use a different password for every account.

Password safety

Long, random, and unique

A generated password is most useful when it is long enough for the service, unique to one account, and saved securely. Turn on multifactor authentication whenever it is available.

Are generated passwords stored?

No. Generation happens locally in your browser. Bobek does not receive or save the password.

What length should I choose?

Use the longest password the service accepts. Current NIST advice emphasizes length and recommends at least 15 characters when you must create a password.

Do I need symbols?

Symbols increase the available character pool, but length is the priority. Some services require particular character groups.

Can I reuse the same password?

No. Use a unique password for every account so a breach of one service does not expose your other accounts.
