Quick guide

How to convert time zones

The converter starts in live mode, keeping every watched city on the current minute. Change the date or time whenever you need to plan a past or future event.

  1. 01

    Choose two locations

Search by city or enter an IANA time-zone name. Location-based zones are safer than ambiguous abbreviations such as CST or IST.

  2. 02

    Select the date and time

Use the present time, pick another date, or move one day at a time. The applicable offset is calculated for that exact date.

  3. 03

    Compare, plan, and share

Add more cities, scan the 24-hour meeting planner, copy the result, or share a link that recreates your selected conversion.

Time zone answers

Accurate planning across clock changes

A city’s UTC offset is not always permanent. The selected location and date both matter, especially when daylight saving rules change.

Does this time zone converter adjust for daylight saving time?

Yes. The converter uses named IANA time zones and the time-zone information supplied by your browser, so the applicable UTC offset is calculated for the date you select.

Why can the time difference between two cities change?

Countries can start and end daylight saving time on different dates, while some do not use it at all. As a result, the difference between two cities can change during the year.

What time does the converter use by default?

It starts with the present time in the time zone detected from your device. Use the Now button at any point to return to the current time.

Are abbreviations such as CST and IST reliable?

Time-zone abbreviations can be ambiguous. This converter uses location-based identifiers such as America/Chicago and Asia/Kolkata so the intended rules are clear.

What happens during a daylight saving clock change?

Some local times occur twice when clocks move back, while others do not exist when clocks move forward. The converter detects these cases and displays a warning instead of silently returning a misleading result.

Does Bobek store the cities and times I enter?

Conversions happen in your browser. Saved comparison cities and clock-format preferences stay on your device unless you intentionally copy and share a conversion link.
